MIAMI GARDENS, FLA. (WSVN) – Some families in Miami Gardens are in limbo after being evicted from their homes.

New video shows the broken ceiling after rain caused a partial roof collapse in an apartment complex near Northwest 177th Street and Seventh Avenue.

Several units were convicted.

Residents cannot return until the fire department says it is safe.

“Hopefully it corresponds to our living conditions, but according to the fire department, it is not even habitable,” said local resident Takiyah Thomas. “The whole building [isn’t] So I’m not sure what they can do to do us all justice. “

The crews are making progress in mending the ceiling.

The building management announced that the units will be repaired on Friday.

They paid for a two-day hotel stay for the residents.
