Thieves took off with a couple of personal watercraft sitting at a Miami Gardens business on July 4th. A surveillance camera recorded the theft. The owner is now sharing the video in hopes that someone can help him find his property.
Melina Carrasquillo says several men cut a hole through the fence of her husband Iraq Pacheco’s Miami Gardens business, drove a truck through the hole and stole two personal watercraft they kept on the property.
“It’s inside a gate, we never thought it could happen, but I guess it can happen,” Carrasquillo said. “They took advantage 4th of July; it was raining, so they took advantage.”
Carrasquillo says the men tried to drive out but got stuck, but they came back and about 45 minutes later, drove off.
“Devastated, these are brand new jet skis; we got them last summer for our kids, we used them for about three months, and that was it,” Carrasquillo said.
Carrasquillo and Pacheco say they just want the watercraft back.
“You’re a hard-working family, and they just take advantage,” Pacheco said.
Pacheco says the two watercraft that were stolen are 2025 Sea-Doos, purple and blue.
Miami Gardens Police detectives are investigating.
